mov Audio Extractor is an audio ripper and converter. It allows you to "rip" or extract the audio track of any video file and save it to a variety of audio formats. The application has a very simple, intuitive and functional user interface, it supports batch operations and has good format support. Although it is sold as an audio extractor, it can also be used as a video converter.
With converters, it all really boils down to format support. This tool has excellent support for input formats, which are the formats that the application can open and use, and great support for output formats, which are those formats to which your files will be saved. In my testing, I used two different input files, an MKV file and an AVI file. Both loaded just fine. I converted one to an M4A file for playback on an iPod touch and the other one to a different video format, just to test if this app worked as a video converter. To my surprise, it did. Both files were playable on my iPod. The MKV file was converted to an MP4 file, which looked great, even on the small screen.
All in all, this app looks good and it works extremely well. It can be used to extract audio from video files or to convert video or audio files to other formats. |
